UMC Utrecht is looking for participants
In several studies, we are looking for people with severe paralysis, for whom we are investigating a new way of communicating and operating devices based on brain signals.
Corticom
In the CortiCom study, we are looking for people (18–70 years old) with severe paralysis and communication problems, or people who have a high risk of developing this condition within two years. These problems are the result of traumatic brain injury, a brainstem stroke, or neurodegenerative or neuromuscular diseases such as ALS.
INtense
In the INTENSE study, we are looking for people (18 – 70 years) with severe paralysis due to a spinal cord injury who experience problems operating digital devices as a result.
intrecom
In the INTRECOM study, we are investigating whether we can enable communication using the INTRECOM system by measuring brain signals only. We are looking for participants (18–70 years old) with severe paralysis and speech problems, with the goal of making communication faster and giving users more independence.
